Inferiority Complex: history. causes & solution.

 Introduction

What is an inferiority complex?

inferiority complex in its simplest meaning is a natural human behavior usually caused due to one's past. In major part of the world, people suffer from it individually, but talking about people of South Asia research has it that most of the population suffer from it on a cumulative level.

History

When taking a look back in history, inferiority complex has always been a part of Indian-Pakistani society, The people there have always been under the servitude of foreign forces. And instead of protesting the leaders there adopted foreign cultures just because of their inferiority complex and the same way was with people. For instance, a local leader named Dara raised an objection on Alexander The Great, who came to Hindustan for the sole purpose of ruling it. And instead of showing their support towards Dara who had enough courage to stand up against a foreign ruler the people of Hindustan, being enslaved by inferiority complex supported Alexander, resulting in Dara facing defeat.

Due to the fact that the people decided to support a foreign power instead of their own leader became a cause of enslavement for them. And this enslavement continued on for centuries.

Talking about the present times. As soon as a middle class man, gets a civil service job, the first thing he does is to cut off ties with his past that makes him a middle class man. Or creates himself a past that showcases him as an over privileged person born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Abraham Lincoln, one of the most successful presidents US has ever had the privilege to come across with, was son of a cobbler, and he never felt ashamed admitting it. Freshly after being elected the president, he was called on stage for a presidential speech. Just moments before he stepped on stage, somebody from the crowd shouted "Abraham Lincoln is a cobbler's son." With his head high Lincoln turned and answered "yes indeed I belong from a family that sews, mends and polishes shoes for a living, and being part a of this family I have worked as a cobbler too and if you want I may sew your shoes for you". Lincoln's response silenced the man but the auditorium roared with a thunderous round of applause.

With the above two events I just wanna make a statement that the people of subcontinent have always shied away from displaying their past, whereas the case has always been the opposite in the west.

Solution

One constructive way to overcome inferiority complex is that instead of being ashamed with our past we come face to face with it and accept it, and preach the same things to others. believe in yourself, your past and your goals, never let the superiority of others distract you. Fall in love with people's behavior towards you instead of their wealth. Have faith. Make your religion your ultimate guide. Inferiority complex is not an incurable disease. The cure to it is within yourself. All you have to do is be confident and believe in yourself.

One can always take help from books in such issues, book like Empty Your Cup by Yong Kang Chan, Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff, The Comfort Book By Matt Haig and many others.

Of course it was. I took a bite from it and it tasted DRY!! Now before you bash me with comments like "hey its just a burger, it's supposed to be dry and you should have bought some drink along with it ya

5 sports cars you can buy in Pakistan

Living in a country like Pakistan where brutal taxation has made car prices skyrocket, owning a sports car has become a dream or at least they think so (and no i am not talking about the Honda Civic). To prove them wrong, here is the list of 5 sports cars which will do 200+ km/h without breaking a sweat. 5. Honda CR-Z: Okay I might get a lot of bashing for this from car guys but hear me out. The reason why this car is here is not because of its engine or the body shape (Which both are not so great) but the real reason it is here is because it i really gives you a sporty feel. I have driven this car and it just so toss-able. If you are the kind of guy who would enjoy a drive on the Murree express way on a Sunday, this car will surely put a smile on your face. It has a 1.5L Petrol engine and a hybrid electric motor. Collectively, they produce around 120hp. Yes I know that isn't much but tuning the ECU will help you gain at least 20 more hp. The car is light and is fun to drive a
