If you want to make a movie awesome, what do you do? Make Samuel L. Jackson a hitman and Ryan Reynolds his bodyguard. Weather you are a teenager or an adult, this epic duo is gonna keep you on the edge of your seats all along the movie. Aside from being an action packed powerhouse, the movie offers a very nice dose of comedy with a pinch of romance on top. This here is a blend of comedy and action your taste buds are gonna remember for years.
For example, in some scenes, you feel like these scenes were prolonged for no reason. I would have mentioned those scene but I want to keep it spoiler free. Other than that, sometimes you can feel that they overdid violence a bit. Now I know what you are thinking, "Hey the duo have a Russian mafia on their tail, what do you expect?" and you have a valid point, but the problem is that you don't actually have to include violence in absolutely every single scene. Had it been a little less violent, it would have been targeted for a wider audience and accepted more voluminously than it is now.
Plot:
If you were say, a top protection agent once in life who now after a failed contract is going downhill and your only hope to get your AAA reputation back is to safely transport a hitman who has been killing people you were supposed to protect while a bloodthirsty dictator who stands trial in the international criminal court is out to kill the guy you want to protect, Things can get a bit, say, complicated. Hence the name "The Hitman's Bodyguard". The movie has a concrete story line with very solid characters.Well done Netflix?
Being released very close to death note, this makes the movie a relative success. It received a relatively positive response as compared to "Death Note" which was being held trial on the basis of the anime. Contrary to that, The idea of "The hitman's Bodyguard" is somewhat exquisite since a paid assassin might be the last person who needs protection. In that matter, you have to give credit to Netflix. Other than that, this movie might just be the first step for Netflix to become "The One in the game".Was it that good?
Apart from an action packed 2 hour movie which I personally adored, it has its own flaws. Yes the acting was spot on by those two brilliant actors and yes the budget was enough for the movie but there are certain things that make you wonder if there was anything that could be done to improve. For example, in some scenes, you feel like these scenes were prolonged for no reason. I would have mentioned those scene but I want to keep it spoiler free. Other than that, sometimes you can feel that they overdid violence a bit.
