Bayawatch(2017): The legacy carries on. Or does it?

Review by: Yahya Durrani

Mention ‘Baywatch’ to any 90s TV shows fan and their eyes will surely lighten up. Tell them to explain Baywatch in 3 words and they most likely will be “sand, sun and bikini”. I personally am a big fan of the franchise, mostly because of its highly attractive cast. Pamela Anderson, David Hasselhoff, Dwayne Johnson , Zac Effron, Alexandra Daddario and Priyanka Chopra to name a few.
Despite the fact that it always had a somewhat weak story line, it has always been a guilty pleasure for a good chunk of people. Now coming back to the return of Baywatch. YES it was a flop. Everyone knows that. But what was the thing that made it go downhill. Was it the cast? No. Filming locations?  No. Story?  Not really. Legacy? YES! It was stepping into shoes it was never made to fill. It’s like you take a long running TV show, say F.R.I.E.N.D.S and make a remake of it just two hours long. You know right from the start that is a recipe of disaster. I mean half naked women running in slow motion was attractive and appealing in the 90s but times have evolved now and lines like “Oh you’re Matt Broody and we still don’t give a fuck, we’re fresh out of fucks ” is just not funny anymore.
Another let down was the CGI. Okay one can agree or disagree about the cocky dialogues, and yes sometimes it’s quiet funny but one thing we can all agree on is the TERRIBLE CGI. The simple greenscreen effects are purely terrible. I mean an 18 year old with fancy cameras and computer can do better. The boatwreck scene with water on fire was like offering meat to a vegetarian. I mean its so easy to set water on fire, all you have to do is sprinkle some gasoline on water and set it on fire but no, lets use terrible CGI.
ALEX MY LOVE!!!
So you’re thinking why in the world after such criticism I liked it movie? As I mentioned before, this movie is actually guilty pleasure for most. It’s the kind of movie you would like to watch after a long and hard working Friday. It really sets your mood for the weekend if you’re the kind of person who likes to work hard and party harder. The likes of Alxeandra daddario (My celeb crush) and Priyanka chopra really do spice things up. No man ever minds attractive ladies running in slow mo or any girl a shirtless Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson.
Now it’s time for the Reviewlocity score. This movie received a lot of criticism and despite being a long awaited movie it failed to leave an impact. Apart from what I think, we have to rate this movie out of 10. Had it been a pre-release review, it would have earned an easy 8 but since it’s been quite some time the movie has been released, the score is not very hopeful for a sequel. It was able to earn only 3.4/10 on the score. The movie is not worth watching and if you are really going to watch it then go ahead. Make sure you get it out of your system before your working Monday

When almost every second person is jobless due to the lock down or curfew during this pandemic people are looking for cheaper ways to spend this time period. So Here today we bring you Quick And Economic Recipes To Make During Lock down.   1. BEAN SALAD        I personally would rate this as one of the most easiest things to make. As it only involves mixing of already prepared or available things. You only have to mix already boiled red kidney beans, garbanzo beans, and other types of boiled beans depending on one's choice. Add some vegetables like bell pepper, onions, carrots, iceberg lettuce, boiled potatoes etc mix with salt and pepper and other spices and then enjoy your very easy to make bean salad.     2.
